From November 18 to 21, 2024, Orixine Consulting participated in the Stakeholders’ Review
Workshop for the draft guideline on Public Food Procurement and Service (PFPS) in Nigeria.
The workshop, organized by the National Bureau of Public Procurement in collaboration with
Resolve to Save Lives (RTSL), brought together stakeholders from various federal government
ministries.
The primary objective of the meeting was to review the zero-draft guideline on public food
procurement and service—a significant step toward ensuring that the acquisition, distribution,
and management of food resources align with national goals and international standards. The
guideline aims to establish robust safety and nutritional benchmarks for food procured for public
consumption.
Participants included representatives from ministries such as Health and Social Welfare,
Education, Youth Development, Interior, Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, as well
as Civil Society Organizations and development partners. The event featured goodwill messages
from ministry representatives and a presentation by Consultant Sylvester Igbedioh, who outlined
the purpose and scope of the guideline.
Over the four-day workshop, stakeholders engaged in extensive discussions and successfully
developed a draft guideline. The workshop concluded with a closing remark from a
representative of the National Bureau of Public Procurement, who commended participants for
their dedication to achieving a comprehensive PFPS guideline.
Orixine Consulting is proud to have contributed meaningfully to this process, which aligns with
our mission of enhancing health outcomes through strong legislative frameworks across Nigeria.
