Orixine Consulting Participates in the recent Nasarawa State Joint External Evaluation (JEE)

We are proud to have been part of the recently concluded Joint External Evaluation (JEE) exercise in Nasarawa State—an important milestone in strengthening subnational health security conducted by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) with the support of Resolve to Save Lives (RTSL),

The Subnational JEE provided a valuable mechanism for the state to assess its public health strengths in 14 key technical core capacities areas, identify critical gaps, and uncover opportunities for system improvement.

Aside the external assessment exercise, high-level engagements were also done to ensure whole-of-government buy-in. The high-level engagement included the Hon. Larry Bawa, Chairman of the House Committee on Health; the Commissioner for Health, Nasarawa State; the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health; the Director of Public Health; representatives from the WHO, Resolve to Save Lives, and other MDAs. Both the Commissioner for Health and the House Committee Chairman reaffirmed their commitment to advancing health security efforts in the state, particularly in developing a State Action Plan for Health Security (SAPHS).

As a key partner to health security strengthening in Nasarawa state, we look forward to supporting the next steps in building a more resilient and responsive health system in Nasarawa and beyond.
